DR. GEETIKA WALIA
Associate Professor of Law & Librarian In-charge
Dr. Geetika Walia is working as Associate Professor of Law at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab. She has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students at this University since 2009. Dr. Walia has taken on number of administrative and academic initiatives at Rajiv Gandhi National University of law, Punjab. Presently she is holding the charge of Librarian- Incharge and State Public Information Officer.
Dr. Walia is a graduate from Army Institute of Law, Mohali and did her masters from Punjabi University, Patiala. She did her Ph.d. from Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab on the topic “Crime of Aggression: An Analytical Study”. Dr. Walia has also done her Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Symbosis Law School, Pune.
Some of her achievements are that she was selected by Indian Army Services Selection Board for the post of Legal Officer in Judge Advocate General branch (JAG) in Nov, 2005 at all India level. Further she was the Member of the Selection Committee to appoint Director of Factories, Punjab Public Service Commission, Punjab. Further she was selected as a delegate (Faculty Advisor) to the 56th session of Harvard National Model United Nations held at Boston, U.S.A. She is also a life member of Indian Society of Criminology.
Dr. Walia has more than 60 publications to her credit in the form of Research Papers, articles in journals and chapters in edited books. She has also provided e- content to the MHRD-UGC, E-PG Pathshala project. Dr. Walia has also provided e-content in the field of Criminology under the DTH Channel 06 Of Swayam Prabha, Ministry Of Education, GOI.
She has acted as a resource person and has chaired/co-chaired sessions at seminars and conferences organized at the international and national levels. She has also judged various moot court competitions at the national and international level. She has been invited to deliver guest lectures at numerous institutions and has delivered more than 40 lectures.
Dr. Walia has supervised students at the Masters' level and acted as project supervisor for students at the undergraduate level. She has successfully guided Ph.D. candidates.
She has authored books namely “Artificial Intelligence And Its Administration: A New World Perspective”, “Contours of Fair Dealing: An Analytical Study” and “Crime of Aggression: An Analytical Study under the International Criminal Law”. She has to her credit eight edited books pertaining to IPR’s, Competition Law, Right to Information and Women Empowerment. Dr. Geetika has organized various national and international seminars, conferences and workshops.
