MR. SOURAV KUMAR
Assistant Professor of Political Science
Mr Sourav Kumar is working as an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab, since August 2022. He teaches courses on Non-Western Political Thought, International Relations and Indian Foreign Policy at RGNUL. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of RGNUL Social Sciences Review (a biannual peer-reviewed journal). Before joining RGNUL, he had taught undergraduate and postgraduate students at GITAM School of Humanities and Social Sciences, GITAM University, Visakhapatnam and Institute of Social Science Education and Research (ISSER), Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Mr Kumar is also pursuing a PhD in Political Science (International Relations) at the Department of Political Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh and received a UGC Junior Research Fellowship (UGC-JRF) for the same. He holds a Masters Degree First Class in Political Science from the University of Jammu, following which he qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Assistant Professor in Political Science.
His research interests include Forced Migration, International Relations, India’s Foreign Policy and Indian Political System. He is a member of various national and international professional bodies and has made several foreign visits to collect research data and present research papers at international conferences. He has received grants from distinguished national institutions like UGC and ICSSR and professional bodies like IPPA and IAFOR for pursuing research activities. His research has been published as book chapters and research articles in international journals.
