DR. SHIVA SATISH SHARDA
Assistant Professor of Law
Dr Shiva Satish Sharda, Assistant Professor of Law and Coordinator, Centre for Advanced Studies in Labour Welfare. She is also the Placement and Internship Coordinator at RGNUL. She has 15 years of professional experience. Before joining RGNUL in 2017, she worked at the Army Institute of Law, Mohali. In 2016, she earned her doctorate in intellectual property rights in e-commerce from RGNUL.
She has instructed graduate and postgraduate students in comparative public law, administrative law, media law, financial market regulations, and labour laws. She has authored two books, Intellectual Property in Cyber-Space and Matrimonial Property Rights of Hindu Women. In 2017, she was awarded the KTS Tulsi Chair for her outstanding contributions to the field of information technology law. In 2013-2014, she served as an external examiner for the Public Service Commission. She served as the Faculty Coordinator at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Energy Laws (CASEL) from 2017 to 2024. She is the subject matter expert for the development of e-content for UGC CEC on various law subjects. She is also the labour law expert for ICAI.
She has supervised approximately 30 undergraduate dissertations and 15 master's thesis. She has guided three doctoral candidates, and three have undertaken research under her guidance.
She has 27 publications to her credit. She has delivered papers at 40 national and international conferences. She has been invited to serve as the session chair and deliver lectures at workshops and seminars.
Her areas of interest include Intellectual Property Rights, network neutrality, media laws and labour laws.
