PROFESSOR (DR.) SHARANJIT
Professor of Law
Dr. Sharanjit is a Professor of Law and at the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab since 2017. She has a teaching experience of around twenty years. Prior to working in the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab she was a regular faculty at the Department of Law, Punjabi University Regional Centre, Bathinda, Punjab. She has done her Ph.D. from Punjabi University Patiala on the topic, Legal Framework to Deal with Terrorism in India, under the able guidance of Professor (Dr.) G.I.S Sandhu.
She was a visiting faculty at the Punjab Jail Training School, Patiala and imparted training in the field of criminal law to various batches of prison officials from Punjab, New Delhi and Himachal Pradesh. She is also associated as a resource person to impart training to police and judicial officers at different training institutions across India, including the Jharkhand Judicial Academy, the Chandigarh Judicial Academy, the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, the Phillaur Police Academy, the CDTI, Chandigarh, the CDTI Rajasthan, the Police Training School, Port Blair. Also acted as an expert in a Certified Investigator Course on NDPS being organized by the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab for 730 police officers from different parts of Punjab.
She has authored the following books- Anti-terror Laws in India: Legislative Developments under compulsions and restraints (2014), Gender Justice (2015),First Information Report (2018),Human Rights Concern in the Age of Insurgency and Terrorism (2020) and Victimization leading to Criminalization : A Harsh Reality (2023), Gender Justice: Law and Reality (2026). She has authored 20 research papers in different journals. She has presented research papers in 25 national and international conferences. She has chaired numerous sessions in regional, national and international conferences. She has presented a research paper at the United Nations, International Labour Organisation (ILO) conference at Geneva, Switzerland ( 2nd to 4th July 2025).
She is the Course Coordinator for a MOOCS on Regulatory Governance. She is also associated with DTH No. 6 of Swayam Prabha (Sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Government of India) in the capacity of a subject matter expert.
She has participated in a three months certificate course in “Intellectual Property Rights and Information Technology in the Internet Age” from the Indian Law Institute, New Delhi. She has also participated in an intensive forty- two hours of training in Mediating the Litigated Case, at Pepperdine University, Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, Malibu, CA in 2018. She has also undertaken 40 hours mediation training programme in 2026 conducted under the aegis of the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee, Supreme Court of India. Currently, she is associated with the District Courts, Patiala for Mediation purposes.
She has guided around 30 LLM students with their dissertation work. Presently she is supervising 7 students for Ph.D. (Ph.D. Degree has been awarded to four research scholars).
