After completion of Graduation from Punjabi University Patiala in 2007 (B.A. and LL.B.) Dr. G.S. Dhaliwal did his Post Graduation (LL.M.) from Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab.  Dr. G.S. Dhaliwal qualified UGC/NET with JRF in June 2010. Dr. G.S. Dhaliwal has received RGNUL University Gold Medal for 2007-2009 LL.M. Batch at the first Convocation held on 2nd February 2013. He has also received RGNUL Surana and Surana Gold Medal for Academic Excellence for 2007-2009 LL.M. Batch. Dr. G.S. Dhaliwal was awarded Doctorate Degree in Law in January 2016 at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab. At present Dr. Gurneet Singh Dhaliwal is supervising two Ph.D. candidates.


Dr. Singh was Member Co-Coordinator, The 37th All India Criminology Conference of the Indian Society of Criminology held on 28th February – 2nd March 2014 at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab on the Theme: Crime, Criminology and Criminal Justice: A Relook in the Present Scientific and Technological Era.  He was on the Editorial Board of book entitled, Selected Essays on Emerging Trends in Cyber Laws, ISBN: 978-93-84166-02-1. Further, Dr. G.S.  Dhaliwal has attended and participated in many workshops, conferences, Seminars etc. 

Dr. G.S. Dhaliwal was the University Programme Coordinator for Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) Sponsored Three Days Training Course for prison officers on the Theme: Discussion on Operational and Administrative Issues of Release of Prisoners held on 28-30 January 2019 at RGNUL. He was also RGNUL Programme Coordinator for Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) sponsored Conference on Legal Aid Framework in Prison Administration, held on 26th – 27th November 2018 organized by Punjab Jail Training School, Patiala in collaboration with RGNUL, Punjab.


Further, Dr. G.S. Dhaliwal was Coordinator BPR&D Sponsored Training Course for Prison Officers on the Theme: Supreme Court Directions on Prison Reforms held on 24th December 2018 at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab.


At present Dr. Singh is Co-Coordinator of RGNUL Centre of Environmental Law (CELS). Under the able leadership of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai, he is Co-Coordinator of RGNUL Centre of Criminology, Criminal Justice and Victimology (CCV).  Dr. Singh is also member of RGNUL Legal Aid Clinic.
